Specifications and requirements for the use of various welding rods

Ⅰ. Storage conditions of welding rods
1. Welding rods should be stored in a dry, ventilated, light-proof place to avoid sun, rain, moisture and heat;
2. The storage period of welding rods is generally 6-12 months. If the storage time exceeds the storage period, they should be dried or eliminated;
3. The temperature of the welding rod storage room should be controlled between 5℃~30℃, and the relative humidity should be maintained between 50%~70%.

Ⅱ. How to use welding rods
1. The welding rods should be dried before use. The oven temperature should be selected according to the appropriate temperature range of the welding rod material, generally between 225℃~300℃.
2. Before welding, the packaging bag of the welding material should be cut off and taken out, and then the welding rod should be lightly ground without current to remove surface oxidation.
3. There should be no oil or moisture on the welding rod, otherwise it will cause poor welding and problems such as pores and cracks.
4. The use of welding rods should select appropriate welding current, voltage and network parameters according to the materials used, generally based on the technical parameters provided by the welding rod manufacturer.

Ⅲ. Applicable materials and welding positions of different types of welding rods
1. Carbon steel welding rod: suitable for welding parts of low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, high carbon steel and some low alloy steel, and the welding position is mainly the part that bears bending load.
2. Stainless steel welding rod: suitable for welding stainless steel and low alloy steel, and the welding position is common in high-demand occasions such as stamping dies, pressure vessels, and nuclear power plants.
3. Aluminum welding rod: suitable for welding aluminum and aluminum alloys, and the welding position mainly includes various fields such as ships, aircraft, automobile manufacturing, steel structures, construction, and light industry.
4. Nickel welding rod: suitable for welding nickel and nickel alloys, and is widely used in nuclear power plants, aerospace, chemical industry, and in the production of electronic components, electrical equipment, automobile engines and other fields.

In short, the correct selection and use of different types of welding rods and strict compliance with welding specifications and requirements can ensure the quality and efficiency of welding and improve work efficiency and product quality.
