Welding precautions in complex environments

When welding with electrodes in a complex environment, the following matters need to be noted:

1. Wiring of power supply: It must be done by a professional electrician. If there is a fault in the welding machine or power supply line, the welder must contact the power electrician in time for processing.

2. Personal protection: The welder wears special work clothes, insulating shoes, protective gloves and other labor protection supplies that meet professional protection requirements. Clothing must not be open-necked or rolled up, and a protective mask must be worn to avoid arc damage to the eyes.

3. Workplace safety: Check whether there are flammable materials around the workplace. If so, they should be removed or reliable isolation and protection measures should be taken, and a special person should be assigned to supervise.

4. High-altitude work: A special person must be required to pull the switch and adjust the power supply. The power supply wire should be lifted with a rope after the power is cut off. It must not be carried up or crossed from a high place1.

5. Welding in bad weather: It is not suitable to carry out open-air welding in rain, snow and strong winds. If it is really necessary, measures such as shielding from rain and snow, preventing electric shock and sparks should be taken1.
6. Safety during welding: During welding, the welder should not touch the welding object or other conductive objects; the welder should require other maintenance personnel to stay away from the head of the structural parts; it is strictly forbidden to weld closed containers; the welder and the weldment must be insulated, and a special person should be assigned to monitor the outside of the container.
7. Safety after welding: After welding, the welding position should be isolated or supervised by a special person to prevent scalding other personnel and fire accidents; after work, check the ground, extinguish the fire, and cut off the power before leaving.
8. Safety in the use of gas cylinders: acetylene and oxygen cylinders should be placed vertically to prevent tipping, and it is strictly forbidden to store them together with flammable items such as oxygen cylinders; when opening the valve of oxygen or acetylene cylinders, it is forbidden to knock with iron tools, special tools should be used, and the action should be slow to prevent sparks. It is strictly forbidden to stand facing the pressure reducer.
9. Safety of ignition and flameout: Before ignition, quickly open the welding and cutting torch valves, blow with oxygen, and check the nozzle outlet. It is not allowed to be used when there is no wind, and it is forbidden to aim at the face when testing the wind; when igniting, the oxygen valve should be slightly opened first, and then the acetylene valve should be opened. When stopping use, the acetylene valve should be closed first, and then the oxygen valve should be closed to prevent the flame from being sucked back. During welding, when the welding gun makes a popping sound or the hand feels vibration, the acetylene valve should be closed immediately, and repaired after cooling. The ignited welding gun is not allowed to be thrown away at will, and the fire should be extinguished if necessary.
10. Welding in special environments: When working on a machine (or at a high place), a safety protection device should be set up under the cutting part to prevent the metal solution from falling and causing a fire or burning other people; understand the firefighting equipment status of the equipment, and ensure that there are more than 2 dry powder fire extinguishers around the welding site; after the cutting work is completed, the ground should be checked and the fire should be extinguished.
