Description: E7018 is a high-quality carbon steel welding rod with iron powder low hydrogen potassium type coating. The welding rod has excellent welding process performance, good arc stiffness, not easy to produce magnetic blow, fine and beautiful weld formation, less spatter, easy slag removal; the weld metal has excellent and stable low temperature toughness and crack resistance. It can be used for both AC and DC, and can be welded in all positions. Its characteristic is that the coating contains iron powder, which can reduce the number of welding layers. The rod is baked at 350~400 degrees Celsius for 1~2 hours and can be used as soon as it is baked. Generally, this high-quality electrode is used for welding ship steel (A, B, D or E, A36, E36) and important low-alloy steel structures of the same strength level, such as boilers, pressure vessels and offshore drilling platforms.
Precautions for use:
1. Bake the electrode at 300℃ for 60 minutes before use. If the electrode is exposed to air for a long time, it is recommended to bake at 300-350℃ for 60-120 minutes. The unpacked electrode should be stored at 100-150℃.
2. Remove water, dirt, oil, etc. from the surface of the parent metal before welding to prevent cracks and pores.
3. The back-forward method should be used to prevent pores or pits at the arc initiation.
4. The arc length should be kept as short as possible during welding. If swinging is required, the swing amplitude should not exceed 3 times the diameter of the electrode.
E7018 is a multi-purpose electrode with excellent operating performance. 7018 performs particularly well when welding low-carbon steel or low-alloy steel, such as bridges, construction, shipbuilding and pressure vessel manufacturing. The E7018 can also be used in construction and maintenance of a range of construction machinery such as bulldozers, agricultural or mining equipment.
